Webinar – Marketing Technology – What’s New and What Works in 2016

Technology is a Great Servant but a Poor Master!

There are many shiny new technologies that sales and marketing professionals use to make their jobs easier. But unfortunately, many times it seems that the “tail wags the dog” and sales and marketing professionals feel like they’re working for the technology, instead of having the technology work for them.  That’s the reason for this month’s webinar.

This webinar is for you if:

  • You sell something
  • You’re in aviation or a related industry
  • You know your way around a PC, but
  • You don’t have technological superpowers!

What we’ll cover today:

  1. Using a Weekly Routine to Defend Against:
    • Overload
    • Shiny Object Syndrome
    • Random Acts of Marketing
  2. Specific Tools We Use & Why
  3. Techniques for Staying Focused

AMHF 006 – The Three Most Interesting Questions We Were Asked at #NBAA15

AMHF 6 - PodcastWe really enjoy connecting with new, old, and future clients at #NBAA15 . This year we also moderated a panel discussion in Social Media in the Innovation Zone – a very cool thing that NBAA put together to discuss new and emerging technology. In this podcast, we go into three of the questions we were asked in more depth.

Besides social media, other sesssions in the Innovation Zone were:

  • New paradigns for Aviation Directors & Reporting Executives with Bob Moore, Jim Lara, John D. Witzig, Jonathan Jones, Steve Brechter and Zane Lambert
  • Flight Deck Evalution and Connectivity with Dan Schwinn, Didier Popadoupoulis, John Uczekaj, Phil Straub, Scott Reagan, and Scott Uhlir
  • A Young Professionals Networking Reception (YoPro)
  • Detect & Avoid technology for UAS with Brandon Suarez, Dr. Parimal Kopardekar, Geeorge Ligler, and Paul McDuffee
  • The Future of High Speed Business Jets – Beyond Mach 1 with Oscar Garcia
  • Aviation Space Exploration and Icing Detection with Nilton Renno

NBAA 2015 otg 120

We’d like to thank NBAA for being a pioneer in technology and thought-leadership in the aviation industry, and were proud to share the stage with our panelists:

  • Jerry Buccola, Senior Account Executive, V-Log
  • Bill Johnston, President, V-Log
  • Genaro Sanchez, Director of Marketing & Communications, Cutter Aviation
  • Beth Rosenberg Sanders, Social Media Content Manager, NBAA
  • Matt Steward, VP Sales & Marketing, Applied Composite Engineering
  • John Williams, Chairman, ABCI.
  • Larry Hinebaugh, Founder, V-Log
  • John Kosak, Project Manager, Weather, NBAA

Our folks are busily transcribing the session and producing the recording. If you’re interested in a recording and transcript of the social media session, request it here and we’ll send it to you when it’s processed.

But, for this podcast, we took some of the most interesting questions from the Social Media session, and from other conversations we had througout the week, we picked three to discuss at greater length in this podcast.

  1. What CRM should I use? (We discussed Salesforce and Infusionsoft at length.)
  2. How much time should I be spending on social media?
  3. Marketing Materials – Quality, or Quantity?

Thanks for listening!

This week’s tip sheet –

The very first question in the session was – which social media is the most popular with Aviation professionals?

Answer – LinkedIn!

Therefore, it’s very important to get your LinkedIn profile in shape – make sure it’s something that helps you get found, and helps you establish your authority, credibility & expertise. This week’s tip sheet includes five simple tweaks you can make to improve your LinkedIn profile.  Click to download the tip sheet.

Can a mobile app help you sell more product?

Mobile App - Aviation Marketing by ABCI - the AppNot too long ago, you just needed an ad in the phone book to be a “respectable establishment.”

A few years ago, you needed a website.

The last couple of years, customers started looking for you on social media and commenting when they couldn’t find you.

Now, they’re asking if you have a mobile app for  iPhone or Android.

Just like social media, mobile apps are simply tools. If they help you accomplish a specific task cost-effectively, then by all means, create one!

So, what marketing tasks can you accomplish with a mobile app for prospects or customers?

Potentially, anything that your website can do, except in a more convenient mobile format (that your customers may be more likely to use more often.)

  • Keep your contact and service information at their fingertips.
  • A “refer a friend” feature that they’re more likely to use on the spur of the moment, if it’s right there on their phone.
  • Blog articles or podcasts, so they can stay up to date with your latest news while commuting or waiting.
  • How-to tutorials and other information about your product.
  • Purchase or reorder information that is more convenient than your website.
  • Scheduling your time (for services, airplanes, etc.)
  • Access to any online product or information portal.

In addition to these, ABCI’s new app will include:

Links to the Aviation Service Directory, so you can find aviation companies or events easily on the go.

Want an early preview?

Download the Aviation Marketing App by ABCI from  iTunes or the Android Store.  It’s free for a limited time- we’d love to hear what you think!

(Pardon our dust – there are a few little things we’re still working on!)

Thanks for your help!

Want your own mobile app?

We’re considering rolling out an app as an option for our TurboProp and Business Jet clients as part of their overall marketing strategy.  Give us a a call and let’s talk about your ideas for an app to keep your product or service (or at least your marketing)  at your customers’  fingertips.
