What advice does Jason have for young entrepreneurs who lack confidence in charging a premium for their product or service?
Thanks Eric! We’ll ask him, and you’re in the drawing for the book!
Pricing is all about cost plus minimum mark-up in these recession times now, true?
Not at all, unless you are selling a commodity. The best idea is to create a product with better proven value than your competitors offer. Then you can charge a premium price and customers are happy to pay.
As an example, if you provide a service that minimizes an aircraft’s downtime, your client’s aircraft is “out of service” for a shorter time. Your client’s aircraft can be back in the air, earning money that day or week.
As long as what you’re charging for the service is less than the difference of earning potential, your client would be crazy not to buy the service at the price requested.
