There have been a lot of articles about Zoom Fatigue, and how people are not using cameras during meetings.

I have a bit of a rant about this:

  1. In-person sales are MOST effective, Zoom is the next best thing.
  2. Presence and attention are the ultimate currency. This is one of the reasons managers don’t feel right about people not working in the office- they feel like their presence (literal and virtual) and attention is elsewhere. But it’s fine to work remotely if we can overcome that barrier.
  3. Bottom line – you don’t have to be glamorous for Zoom to be effective. But do put some effort into it – fix your lighting, create a Zoom setup, Put on your eyebrows and show up!
